I’m sifting through the past as I add more to the memoir. After an amazing, and I mean amazing rejection, from Rock & Sling, I am inspired to hunker down and write the book that it so apparently wants to be. As I go back in to the past, I’m reminded there was a time when there was no Bellina. No emergency texts asking for money be put on a lunch account, no reminders in my phone to get the newest Justin Timberlake album, no violin lessons, no little shoelaces to tie, no hair to braid, no tears to wipe away after hours of homework, no rubber ducks in funny outfits to buy, no tiny fingernails to polish, no one who called me Mama. As Mother’s Day approaches, I am feeling so grateful that I get to be mom to such an amazing little lady. To all the moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!
